This is my First Surrogacy Journey
This is my first surrogacy journey, and it all began with nervous anticipation. When I first signed the papers, I couldn’t have imagined how these ten months would reshape my life. As a first-timer, I worried incessantly: Could I handle the physical challenges? Would I navigate the emotional boundaries correctly? What if I felt overwhelmed along the way?
In those early days, everything felt foreign: the medication, the constant appointments, and that unique, subtle feeling of carrying a life that was precious but not “mine.” But over time, that anxiety was replaced by a sense of purpose. I started viewing every prenatal check-up as an investment in the intended parents’ future. Whenever I saw that little life on the screen and shared the joy with them through my updates, I felt I was participating in a great relay of hope.
Throughout this journey, I learned the true meaning of bravery. When facing the inevitable physical hardships, I stopped viewing them as burdens and started seeing them as a “growth process for the soul.” This journey taught me a simple truth: Helping others fulfill their dreams doesn’t mean losing yourself; rather, it’s about achieving a more expansive and resilient version of who you are.
