Surrogate Requirements

To help ensure the health and safety of both the surrogate mother and the baby(ies) she is carrying, certain surrogate requirements must be met. Please make sure you meet the necessary criteria before applying to become a surrogate with us:

  • Must be between the ages of 21 to 38
  • Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 32 or below
  • Have given birth to and parented at least one child
  • Must not have a history of drug or alcohol abuse

Frequently asked questions

First-time surrogates can expect a base compensation of $60,000, which is about $10,000 more than surrogates in other states. Experienced surrogates may receive even higher compensation. Additional factors — like carrying twins or undergoing multiple embryo transfers — may further increase your earnings.

Yes. BabiesSprouts Surrogacy believes single mothers are just as capable of being surrogates as a woman who is married. If you are single, it is very important that you have some type of support system in place prior to committing to any surrogate program.

Yes. If you do not have health insurance, a surrogate-specific medical plan may be purchased for you by the intended parents for the duration of your pregnancy.

No. All surrogate mother costs and fees are covered by the intended parents.
