Choosing to become a surrogate was the bravest decision of my life
Before becoming a surrogate, it was hard to imagine creating such a profound lifelong connection with two strangers. They came to me scarred by years of infertility, while I was blessed with a healthy body and three beautiful children of my own. I thought, if my good fortune could heal someone else’s heartbreak, then why not?
From the day the embryo transfer succeeded, a wonderful journey began. We weren’t in a business transaction; we were teammates nurturing a shared hope. The intended mother would thoughtfully ship me nutritious snacks, while I texted them daily updates and photos of the baby’s kicks. Every flutter was a silent code, bridging the distance between our eager hearts.
This journey showed me the incredible depth of human kindness, and it remains the proudest badge of honor I will ever wear.
